Baldrige Foundation adds “Community” as sector for Leadership Awards

The Baldrige Foundation announced recently an expansion of the sectors in which individual leaders may qualify for the Foundation’s Award for Leadership Excellence to include “Community.”

The action is consistent with the expansion of the sectors for which the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award may be presented. President Biden on August 9, 2022, signed into law the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, which also authorized “Community” becoming the seventh category of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards. The bill authorizes communities across the United States to apply for, and receive, the highest-level of recognition for quality and performance excellence using the Baldrige Criteria. Award recipient communities will serve as national role-models and share their best practices, which will allow thousands of other communities across America to learn from them.

The Foundation Award for Leadership Excellence previously included the Business, Health Care, Education, Nonprofit, Government, and Cybersecurity sectors.

The nomination window for the 2024 Foundation Leadership Awards is open through September 30. Updated award packets and nomination forms are available by clicking this link.

We encourage you to nominate the role-model leaders in your life today!
