Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross to Present Baldrige National Quality Awards

Baltimore, MD – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross will present four organizations with the Baldrige National Quality Award on Sunday, April 2. The Baldrige Award is the nation’s highest honor for organizational innovation and performance excellence. Dr. George Benson, former President of the College of Charleston and Chairman of the Baldrige Foundation Board of Directors, will emcee the event.

"We are excited that the new Secretary of Commerce is showing his support for the Baldrige program and newest award recipients within weeks of his appointment" said Al Faber, President and CEO of the Baldrige Foundation. ‎"Secretary Ross is one of the nation's most respected businessmen, we are honored to have him usher in this new era for Baldrige‎."

Ross will also announce the formal release of the Baldrige Cybersecurity Excellence Builder, a 32-page self-assessment guide organizations can use to better manage cybersecurity risks. The guide is based on the popular, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, widely used in the both the public and private sectors.

The four honorees are:
• Don Chalmers Ford, Rio Rancho, New Mexico (small business)
• Momentum Group, Irvine, Calif. (small business)
• Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Mountain Valley, Kellogg, Idaho (health care)
• Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital, Sugar Land, Texas (health care).
