Washington -- The Foundation for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award appointed Kevin Lee, President and CEO of Mid-America Transplant, to a two-year term on its Board of Directors.
“This is an exciting addition to our Board and holds great promise for the continued growth and development of the entire Baldrige Enterprise,” said Foundation President and CEO Josh Racette. “Kevin brings tremendous knowledge of and experience with Baldrige to the Board of Directors, including participating in the Baldrige Fellows program and serving on the Board of Examiners. His outstanding advocacy for Baldrige resulted in his receiving the Baldrige Foundation Award for Leadership Excellence in 2024.”
“Mid-America Transplant’s mission is to save lives through excellence in organ and tissue donation, and since adopting the Baldrige framework more than 20 years ago, we’ve been able to make significant improvements that are ultimately saving more lives each year,” said Lee. “I look forward to the opportunity to give back to the Baldrige community and enable more organizations, especially those in the health care community, to access best practices in performance excellence to improve patient outcomes.”
“Kevin has already proved a valuable partner to the Foundation and its Institute for Performance Excellence,” continued Racette, “helping us establish a new program to provide expanded access to the Institute’s many resources to all members of the Organ Procurement Organization community.”
Baldrige is a leadership and management framework with a systems level, customer driven organizational assessment and design approach that has proven to enhance the performance of organizations across every sector of the economy compared to their non-Baldrige peers. Baldrige generates an empirically-documented return on investment of $820 in cost savings and performance enhancements for each $1 spent supporting the Baldrige Enterprise.
