Five hospital and health system leaders across the U.S. have been recognized for leadership excellence.
The Malcolm Baldrige Foundation’s 2026 Foundation Awards for Leadership Excellence span several sectors, including five recipients in healthcare, according to a Jan. 6 news release from the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
The Foundation Awards for Leadership Excellence recognize individuals who support the foundation’s mission and promote the positive impact of Mr. Baldrige on organizational and community success, the release said.
The healthcare executives recognized are:
- Kurt Barwis, President and CEO of Bristol (Conn.) Hospital
- Jeremiah Hodshire, President and CEO of Hillsdale (Mich.) Hospital
- C. Daniel Mullins, PhD, Professor of Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research and Executive Director of the PATIENTS Program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in Baltimore
- Rick Smith, CEO of Troy (Ala.) Regional Medical Center
- Ron Smith, Director of Performance Excellence at Mary Greeley Medical Center (Ames, Iowa)
